Why did I choose to write romance books?

ree

I chose to write in the romance genre because I love anything romance whether it be books or films. I love the excitement you feel when you meet someone you are attracted to for the first time, that funny feeling you get, the spark, the butterflies in your tummy and I wanted to write stories of the journey you go through to falling in love. I think most people love a bit of romance in their life whether it be a bunch of flowers, a romantic meal or just a lovely walk along the beach and when a partner or family and friends show you just how much you mean to them with actions or words it makes you feel special and loved. With everything that is happening around the world today if we could all just be kind, respect and love one another for who we are then the world would be a much nicer place.

Where do I write my stories?

ree

My dining table is my workstation and I sit there most days writing my stories. When my daughters have gone to school and college and I’ve done my household chores I sit down at the table with my laptop and begin to type. I can sometimes write 3,000 to 5,000 words in a day and I often get so lost in the story I forget to take a break or that I need to make myself some lunch. I don’t have a degree in English but I do have a great imagination and when an idea comes to me I have a notebook where I write it down which is really useful because an idea can pop into my head at any time like when I’m doing the washing or cooking the tea. I’ve had writers block once before which can be quite frustrating but mainly my ideas just come to me when I sit down and type. Sometimes when I’m working on something like an argument or something humorous I’m so excited about what to put that I can’t type quick enough. I’m already thinking about more love stories I can write in the future and I'm looking forward to writing them.

Stay tuned to find out more about my writing journey.

How did I come to write a book?

ree

I worked at the District Council for 14 years which is where I met my husband and after getting married I left my job to become a full time mum when my first daughter was born. I then went on to have another beautiful daughter and our family was complete. Spending precious time with my daughters has been amazing, I have enjoyed every minute of watching them grow but now they are older, my first daughter has just started college and my second daughter is at secondary school I wanted to do something for myself. I tried working part time stacking shelves in the evenings but this wasn’t for me so I then decided to work from home and set up an online shop selling giftware. I did this for a couple of years but it wasn’t worth my while because I couldn’t compete with the bigger stores so I closed down my shop and wondered what else I could do working from home. I love to read and after reading various romance books I decided one day that I would have a go at writing my own. I got my laptop out and began to type and eight months later I had written my first book. I have spent a lot of time and hard work writing my story, I never thought when I started writing that I would be in this position that I am today awaiting my first ever book to be published, I keep thinking is this really happening. I’m so glad that I decided that day to write a book and to pluck up the courage to submit it to a publisher because if I didn’t do that I wouldn’t be doing what I am right now and I’m loving it.

Stay tuned to find out more about my writing journey.
